The system has an angle measurement device (34) for measuring angle of inclination of a filiform link i.e. power supply cable (12), of a propulsion engine of a captive aerodyne (10), so as to determine a position of the aerodyne based on the inclination of the link and to modify the position of the engine to achieve the determined position. A tubular sleeve (77) slidingly receives the cable, where the sleeve is fixed to plates (66, 67) by a universal joint. Sensors (75, 76) measure angular positions of the sleeve with respect to the plates. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling and/or commanding a position of an aerodyne connected to a launching and receiving device by a deformable filiform link.
