The method involves applying a source coding instead of another source coding to an assembly of useful data to be transmitted during a predetermined duration when data loss is detected. The former source coding and the predetermined duration are set such that sum between a quantity of data resulting from an encoding along the former source coding of the assembly of useful data and a quantity of data necessary to cure the detected loss is lower than or equal to a quantity of data resulted from encoding along the latter source coding of the assembly of useful data during detection of loss. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program product having computer program code instructions for implementing a data transmitting method (2) a computer readable storage medium having a set of instructions for implementing a data transmitting method (3) a data transmitting device.
