The starter (1) has an electromagnetic actuator (7) whose displacement element (6) moves a pinion (5) towards a ring gear of a combustion engine based on generated magnetic flow. A winding element (CM2) of an electromagnetic switch (8) generates magnetic flux through a magnetic circuit element when the winding element is excited. The winding element closes main contacts (30a, 30b) based on magnetic flow to drive an electric motor (2) to turn an output shaft (3), in which the circuit element and another magnetic circuit element of the actuator are partially shared with respect to each other.
