Balm for use in the treatment of percussive injuries, grazes, cuts and burns

A balm for use in the treatment of percussive injuries, grazes, cuts and burns, comprises a carrier, preferably a solid or semi-solid paraffin carrier such as yellow soft paraffin, benzoin, storax, arachis oil, nutmeg oil, cinnamon oil and clove oil. The balm may comprise 40-70% paraffin carrier, 1-8% benzoin, 0.25-1% storax, 10-20% arachis oil, 0.05-0.5% nutmeg oil, 0.02-0.2% cinnamon oil and 0.03-0.2% clove oil. The balm may further include geranium oil and/or vitamin K present in an amount of 0.2-1% and 0.0005-0.002% respectively. The balm may also include a solid or semi-solid fat as a carrier, preferably wool fat present in an amount of 10-30%. A method for the preparation of the balm is also outlined.
