Diode phase-shifting panel and application to a microwave lens and a phased-array antenna

The invention relates to a phase-shifting panel (1) with improved impedance match. A plurality of such panels (1) disposed in the path of a microwave beam forms an active lens allowing to electronically control the scanning of said beam. The panel is composed of a dielectric substrate (4) on which the diode-carrying wires (2) are disposed. The ON or OFF state of said diodes (3) is controlled through conducting strips (51, 52) forming an iris.The geometry of said panel (1) and iris i.e. dimensions D0, D1, a is such that the panel (1) is matched to the incident wave for one of the states of said diodes (3).
