PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel and improved head touchdown detecting method for detecting a point where the head above a turning disk touches down the disk, a method of adjusting the head flying height by using the method, a disk drive, and recording medium.;SOLUTION: The head touchdown detecting method includes the steps of: detecting a change ratio of electric characteristic factors or characteristic factors of the sensor whose electric characteristic factors change depending on the temperatures set in a slider, and deciding that the head has reached the touchdown flying height on the turning disk when the detected electric characteristic factors or characteristic factors of the sensor satisfy the threshold conditions.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
