PURPLE FRINGE CORRECTION DEVICE, CONTROL METHOD THEREOF, AND PROGRAM FOR CORRECTING PURPLE FRINGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a purple fringe correction device which has increased accuracy of detecting a purple fringe.SOLUTION: Image data obtained by imaging is given to a first white balance processing circuit 10 and a second white balance processing circuit 20. In the first white balance processing circuit 10, white balance adjustment using a gain suitable for detecting a purple fringe is performed. In the second white balance processing circuit 20, white balance adjustment is performed using a gain set (selected) by a user. A purple fringe pixel is detected using a purple fringe detecting image 11 adjusted by the first white balance processing circuit 10. The purple fringe pixel is corrected in a recording image 21 adjusted by the second white balance processing circuit 20 using the detection result.
