PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize each of copper and cooling slag after copper removal treatment, when copper in copper-containing scrap is removed with a sulphide-based flux. PSOLUTION: In the treatment of the slag after refining for copper removal which is obtained by melting the copper-containing scrap together with molten iron and performing refining for copper removal using the flux having sodium, iron, sulfur as the main components, the copper in the slag after refining for copper removal is reformed into metallic copper and recovered by controlling the oxygen-content in the slag after refining for copper removal to 3 mass% and holding the slag for 3 hr in a temperature range of 600-800C, and inorganic compound slag and the metallic copper are separated from each other.
