PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mark formation method of an optical glass member, whereby a mark, which lowers the visibility of the mark by preventing scattering and reflecting of light at a mark edge part and does not influence optical characteristics of an optical glass member, is formed.SOLUTION: The mark formation method of an optical glass member includes preparation of a glass preform, formation of a coating film including glass particles on the surface of the glass preform, formation of a fused film by fusing glass particles on the surface of the glass preform by irradiating laser light to a predetermined area of the coating film, and pressing of the glass preform with the fused film formed thereon.
