PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a numerical calculation method and apparatus for simultaneous linear equations using a multigrid method applicable for a problem of an arbitrary lattice division number.;SOLUTION: In a coarse graining process for converting a value on a fine grid to a value on a coarse grid and a fine graining process for converting a value on a coarse grid to a value on a fine grid, a group of lattices on grids of a conversion source covering lattices on a grid of a conversion destination is determined. A ratio between the size of each lattice belonging to the lattice group and the size of a common portion of the lattice and the lattice of the conversion destination is determined as an overlapping portion ratio. A weight representing a contribution of a value in each lattice belonging to the lattice group to a value in the lattice of the conversion destination is set. Across every lattice belonging to the lattice group, a total sum of a product of a value, an overlapping portion ratio and a weight in each lattice is determined, and is set as a value in the lattice of the conversion destination.
