PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color conversion profile for multi-primary color display which can perform color reproduction smoother than a conventional method, and to provide a multi-primary color display device.SOLUTION: In a method for creating a profile, a spectral projection model converter is used to convert each piece of sample multi-primary color data to the spectral intensity of a virtual sample color patch. An evaluation index including a predesignated type of a color difference index representing a color difference relating to a sample color of each piece of sample multi-primary color data is calculated. A plurality of pieces of sample multi-primary color data are classified into a plurality of groups in accordance with sample colors, and the best piece of sample multi-primary color data is selected in each of the plurality of groups on the basis of evaluation indexes. Then, a color conversion profile is created on the basis of a plurality of selected best pieces of sample multi-primary color data. As the color difference index, an index indicating color difference between color patches projected on a plurality of different screens different by spectral characteristics is used.
