PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ingot material with which a thermoelectric conversion material with high strength and high characteristics is obtained, and to provide a method of manufacturing the thermoelectric conversion material in which the high-performance thermoelectric conversion material having characteristics equal to or higher than those of a material manufactured by adding an additive element is manufactured by optimizing manufacturing conditions without adding any additive element.;SOLUTION: In the β-Zn4Sb3 ingot material, the rate obtained by dividing a (030) peak strength by the total of respective (030), (223), (330), and (143) peak strengths is ≥35% in terms of index of a JCPDS card with respect to a powder X-ray diffraction result. The method of manufacturing the thermoelectric conversion material includes: a first step of weighing material powder; a second step of obtaining the ingot material by melting the weighed powder; a third step of obtaining a sintered material by pulverizing, classifying, and mixing the ingot material; and a fourth step of obtaining a sintered body by pressing and heating the sintered material; wherein the material is molten at ≥750°C for ≥100 hours in the second step.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
