PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive unit for providing the stable condition of hardness of a weaving loom.;SOLUTION: The drive unit for weaving looms includes a type including a first electric motor 2 for driving moving members of the loom carrying out insertion and beating of weft yarns, a second electric motor 3 for driving a weaving machine and generating opening/closing movement of warp yarns for shed forming and an electric axis control system for maintaining the synchronisation and/or the desired degree of phase displacement between the moving members of the loom and the weaving machine.
