PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method by which spherical furfuryl alcohol resin fine particles can be advantageously produced by using furfuryl alcohol alone and subjecting the furfuryl alcohol to resinification and curing the obtained resin without irradiating the reaction system with ultrasonic waves and without using a harmful aldehyde as a starting material.;SOLUTION: The spherical furfuryl alcohol resin particles are obtained by subjecting furfuryl alcohol to self-condensation while using an acid catalyst having pKa of less than 1.5 in the presence of a protective colloid to resinify the furfuryl alcohol; and then curing the obtained resin by heating.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
