PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screen for a projection television screen, for surely preventing an intense laser beam emitted from an optical engine from accidentally entering an eye of an operator with a simple configuration. PSOLUTION: Screws 81 that fasten a screen unit 3 to a body 2 are inserted from the front side of the body, a front cover 6 that covers and conceals the screws 81 is provided on a front surface of a frame, this front cover 6 is fastened to the body 2 by screws 83 inserted into the body 2 from its rear side, a rear cover 5 that covers and conceals the screws 83 is provided on a rear surface of the body 2, a front safety switch that detects opening of the front cover 6 and a rear safety switch that detects opening of the rear cover are provided, and emission of a laser light beam of the optical engine 4 is stopped when a detection signal of at least one of the front safety switch and the rear safety switch is output.
