PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for preventing ink from depositing on a cylinder printing plate which can easily detect a sign or the generation of plate fogging or plate clogging in gravure printing, and can take recover action immediately.;SOLUTION: The device includes means for photographing, processing an image, and ejecting liquid. A cylinder printing plate of a gravure printing machine in an in-printing state is photographed, (1) a first shade image which has passed through the collation of obtained image data of the printing plate with pattern data of the cylinder printing plate is defined as a reference shade image of the printing plate, and (2) whether or not a brightness difference between a photographed shade image during printing and the reference shade image concerning the same position of the cylinder printing plate exceeds a predetermined threshold is repeatedly determined during printing. When the difference exceeds the threshold, after obtaining information showing a position exceeding the threshold, an ink re-dissolved solution is ejected to the position.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
