PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device for performing reflection display of white while having favorable whiteness and securing brightness, and production method and design method thereof.;SOLUTION: The retardation of a liquid crystal layer is 0.75 μm or more and 1.01 μm or less, the twist angle of a liquid crystal molecule of the liquid crystal layer is 70° or more and 100° or less, the angle obtained by subtracting the intersection angle between the optical absorption axis of a first polarizing filter and the optical absorption axis of a second polarizing filter from the twist angle is -16° or more and +16° or less, the bisector of the twist angle substantially matches the bisector of the intersection angle, and at least one of the first polarizing filter, the second polarizing filter, and a reflection layer or a semi-reflection layer is a white color system.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT
