PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing or preventing exercise-induced muscle seizure and muscle ache by ribose ingested before and immediately after exercise. PSOLUTION: The method is for reducing or preventing exercise-induced muscle seizure and muscle ache of skeletal muscle of a mammal. In the method, an effective amount of ribose is administered to the mammal sufficiently before starting exercise, and ribose is caused to exist in skeletal muscles of the mammal during exercise.
