PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for restoring the activity of a denitrification catalyst with activity decreased by a catalyst poison of a silica, alumina, or calcium sulfate type.;SOLUTION: What is provided is a method for improving the activity of a catalyst comprising previously water-washing a denitrification catalyst with the activity decreased by a catalyst poison of a silica, alumina, or calcium sulfate type to dehydrate it and removing the poison by washing the catalyst with a mixed acid of an organic acid and hydrofluoric acid at ordinary temperature, which method is embodied by one wherein the organic acid in the mixed acid is oxalic acid or citric acid or one comprising either passing the above mixed acid over the surface of the denitrification catalyst with decreased activity or submerging it in a tank containing the above mixed acid for a specified time, withdrawing it from the tank, and separating water from the catalyst by sending air to it from its bottom.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
