PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation technology for obtaining (updating) a map conforming to a necessity.;SOLUTION: The navigation apparatus is equipped with: a storage means for storing map information on each predetermined split area; a route setting means for setting a route from a current location to a destination; and a map update guiding means for determining the present of an entry point at which a user enters in the different area on the route set by the route setting means, and guiding an update of the map information on the entry area at a point prior to the entry point if there is the entry point.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
