USE OF POLYKETIDE SYNTHASE GENE AS REPORTER GENE

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new reporter gene which can be used in fungi, and is excellent in detection sensitivity. PSOLUTION: Using a fungus which has a polyketide synthase gene as a reporter gene, the expression of the gene is determined by Flaviolin produced in a medium as an indicator. A nucleic acid structure includes a transcription regulatory region with its functional known or unknown, and a polyketide synthase gene expressed under the control of the transcription regulatory region, wherein the transcription regulatory region includes one promoter region selected from the group consisting of a promoter induced by an agent for improving the plant disease resistance, a promoter induced by electron transfer system inhibitor, and a promoter induced by ergosterol biosynthesis inhibitor.
