PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compound-type ultrasonic probe capable of executing high-accuracy flaw detection of a thick-walled structure, and shortening the time required for flaw detection in ultrasonic flaw detection by TOFD (time-of-flight diffraction) method, and to provide an ultrasonic flaw detection method by the TOFD method that uses the probe.;SOLUTION: The compound-type ultrasonic probe has a pair of a transmission probe 10 and a reception probe 11 used for ultrasonic flaw detection by the TOFD method. The transmission probe 10 has a plurality of transmission transducers 2a, 2b, and the reception probe 11 has a plurality of receiving transducers 6a, 6b capable of receiving the ultrasonic waves transmitted respectively from the plurality of transmitting transducers 2a, 2b. The plurality of transmitting transducers 2a, 2b are arranged such that each incidence point P1 of ultrasonic waves (22a, 22b) transmitted respectively is common; and though each angle of refraction of the ultrasonic waves (22a, 22b) transmitted respectively is mutually different (θa1≠θb1), the plurality of receiving transducers 6a, 6b are arranged so that each incidence point P2 of the ultrasonic waves (23a, 23b) received respectively is common, though each angle of refraction (θa2≠θb2) of the ultrasonic waves (23a, 23b) received respectively is mutually different.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
