PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that (1) discrimination between markers with the same topology with the same topological structure but with another iconography can not be performed in a marker recognition method by existing topology information, (2) posture estimation of six degrees of freedom can not be performed in the marker recognition method by the existing topology information, and (3) memory usage and a calculation amount increase when the number of bases which should be tried is many in a GEOMETRIC HASHING method in marker recognition in an input image.;SOLUTION: The discrimination between the markers with the same topology structure but with another iconography which can not be performed by a method by the existing topology and the posture estimation in a three-dimensional space are made possible by using topology information and the center of gravity of the respective areas of a marker and applying the GEOMETRIC HASHING method. In addition, the memory usage and the calculation amount are reduced by using topology information in combination to select the bases in the GEOMETRIC HASHING METHOD.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
