PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To restrict operation of an uplink signal converter when an uplink signal is not output from a terminal while preventing the terminal from becoming incapable of communication in order to restrain power consumption thereof, in an uplink signal converter of a CATV system of converting the frequency or the signal form of an uplink signal.;SOLUTION: The uplink converter 30 is equipped with an uplink signal detection circuit 58 for detecting an uplink signal output from a cable modem 20; when a period in which no uplink signal is detected by the uplink signal detection circuit 58 reaches a set period longer than a maximum period allowing the cable modem 20 to transmit data, a control circuit 60 constituted of a monostable multivibrator cuts off a power supply path from a power circuit 62 to an amplifier circuit 52 to stop the operation of the amplifier circuit 52. While the operation of the amplifier circuit 52 is stopped, the control circuit 60 promptly restarts the operation of the amplifier circuit 52 when an uplink signal is detected by the uplink signal detection circuit.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
