PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means capable of selectively recovering a rare metal such as molybdenum, tungsten and vanadium at low cost utilizing a bio-mass waste. PSOLUTION: The adsorbing agent of a metal ion contains crosslinked chitosan having a structure that an inter-chitosan molecule is crosslinked by a crosslinking group and containing, as a glucosamine unit constituting a chitosan molecule, a unit represented by formula (I): (wherein RSP1/SPor RSP2/SPeach independently forms a crosslinking group by making together with RSP1/SPor RSP2/SPof the other glucosamine unit constituting a different chitosan molecule or represents a hydrogen provided that RSP1/SPand RSP2/SPare not simultaneously a hydrogen).
