PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass composition for a masking ink and a masking ink which can provide sufficient light absorbance and light shieldability even if the thickness of a masking layer is made thin.;SOLUTION: The glass composition essentially comprises, in mol% in terms of the following components, 18-55% SiO₂, 1-30% ZnO, 1-30% B₂O₃, 0-10% Bi₂O₃, 8-25% Li₂O, and at least one selected from Na₂O and K₂O; 0-10% CuO, 0-8% Al₂O₃, 0-3% ZrO₂, and at least one selected from SnO₂ and CeO₂; and ≤1% Fe₂O₃ and 0.5% TiO₂. The masking ink is prepared by mixing and dispersing a solid component composition containing a 40-80 mass% glass composition, a 20-40 mass% heat-resistant pigment and a 0-30 mass% refractory material in a vehicle, and is used for the formation of a masking layer 4.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
