PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for initializing a numerical controller, which shortens initialization time of a CPU, and also to provide the numerical controller.;SOLUTION: The numerical controller 1 includes: the CPU 2A to be operated by performing changeover between a first operation frequency and a second operation frequency faster than the first one; a ROM 3 for storing a boot program for initialization; a bus 5 for connecting the ROM 3 to the CPUs 2A, 2B; and a bus mediating circuit 6 interposed between the buses 5 so as to mediate signal transmission between the CPUs 2A, 2B and the ROM 3. When the CPU 2A is started, the CPU 2A and the bus mediating circuit 6 are started by the first operation frequency. Then, the boot program is read from the ROM 3 via the bus 5 and the bus mediating circuit 6, so as to store the program in the cache memory 10 of the CPU 2A. The operation frequency of the CPU 2A is changed over from the first operation frequency to the second operation frequency, and the operation frequency of the bus mediating circuit 6 is changed over from the first operation frequency to the second operation frequency in response to the changeover of the operation frequency of the CPU 2A.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
