METHOD OF MEASURING PHOTOCATALYTIC SURFACE ACTIVITY AND APPLICATION OF LUMINESCENT COMPOUND AIMED FOR THE MEASUREMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To present an alternative method of determining photocatalytic activity of coating, and an application of alternative dyes that aim to be used in such a method and emit light on irradiation with an inductively emitting wavelength.;SOLUTION: The photocatalyst is coated with an indicator compound that has a large Stokes shift, essentially shows light stability itself, is decomposed at a nearly linear gradation rate by a catalyst in an active state, and emits light. The method comprises the process for applying rays having a catalyst reaction wavelength for activating activity of a compound indicating photocatalytic activity, the process for applying rays having an inductively emitting wavelength for inducing the emission to the indicator compound, and the process for detecting rays radiated from the compound that can be deteriorated by the photocatalytic reaction.
