PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wide angle lens whose size is small, respective aberrations are satisfactorily corrected, and optical performance is excellent, to provide optical equipment that has the wide angle lens, and to provide a method for manufacturing the wide angle lens.;SOLUTION: The wide angle lens WL mounted to an electronic still camera 1 or the like includes, in an order from an object side: a first lens L1 composed of a negative meniscus lens whose convex face is oriented toward the object side; a jointed lens component CL1 which is formed by jointing a second lens L2 having positive refractive power and a third lens L3 having negative refractive power, and has positive refractive power as a whole; a fourth lens L4 having negative refractive power; a fifth lens L5 having positive refractive power; and a sixth lens L6 having positive refractive power.
