PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for diagnosing the pitting of stainless steel which enables the estimation of the development of the pitting produced in measuring target stainless steel to diagnose the pitting of stainless steel.;SOLUTION: The method for diagnosing the pitting of stainless steel is constituted so that the potential difference between corrosionproof potential and pitting potential, the depth of pitting and the elapse time reaching the depth of pitting are respectively preliminarily measured with respect to stainless steel having the same material quality as the measuring target stainless steel, the correlation of them is stored as measuring data, the potential difference between the corrosionproof potential and the pitting potential is measured with respect to the measuring target stainless steel and, the value of the measured potential difference is compared with the correlation of the potential difference between the corrosionproof potential and the pitting potential, depth of pitting and elapse time reaching the depth of pitting of the stored measuring data to operate the depth of the pitting after the elapse of a predetermined time produced in the measuring target stainless steel to thereby estimate the development of the pitting produced in the measuring target stainless steel.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
