PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing a reaction time of nitrification and denitrification for phosphoros and nitrogen removal. PSOLUTION: There is provided the same method wherein a phosphorous and ammonia containing water is made to flow into a reaction tank 1 in which air is blown as bubbles, and is mixed with an activated sludge mixed liquid which contains polyphosphoric acid accumulation bacteria having a capacity for ingesting of phosphoros in the reaction tank 1, also nitrification bacteria having a capacity for oxidizing an ammonium ion to nitrous acid or nitrate ion, and denitrification bacteria having a capacity for reducing nitrous acid or nitrate ion to nitrogen gas. Further, measured values measured by an ORP meter, a DO meter or a NH4SP+/SPmeter in the tank 1 are controlled, thereafter the activated sludge mixed liquid is sent to a sedimentation basin 6, a part of the activated sludge mixed liquid sent to the sedimentation basin 6 is returned into the reaction tank 1, and the returned activated sludge and a fresh phosphorus and ammonia containing water are made to flow into the reaction tank.
