PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel for a ship having excellent coating film blistering resistance, wherein excellent coating corrosion resistance is demonstrated even in a severe seawater corrosive environment of the ballast tank or the like of the ship, a period till repair coating can be extended, and further the work of repair coating is reduced.;SOLUTION: The steel for the ship is obtained by applying a zinc-rich primer on the surface of the steel from which scale is removed. The steel member contains, by mass, 0.01 to 0.20% C, 0.05 to 0.50% Si, 0.10 to 2.00% Mn, ≤0.025% P, ≤0.0100% S or the like, and further ≤0.0100% Mo, and specified amounts of one or more selected from W, Sb, Sn, Cu and Cr, and satisfies that ACP value expressed by formula (1) is 6.75: ACP=10-(3+10×W+7×Sb+9×Sn)×(1+0.04×(Cu+Cr))×(0.9-Ni-Mo) (1).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
