PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing paper having excellent strength, by which yield and freeness of finally obtained paper are improved by bettering effects of flocculation and fixation of conventional amphoteric protein and increasing flocculation effect of paper stock slurry.;SOLUTION: The mixture for gelatinized paper-strengthening agent comprises amphoteric protein and an aluminum compound. The gelatinized paper-strengthening agent is produced by gelatinizing an aqueous slurried mixture containing amphoteric starch and an aluminum compound.
