PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a viewing-angle increasing film that is disposed adjacent to observers than a liquid crystal layer in a liquid crystal display device, capable of striking a balance in a high degree between the increase of the viewing angle and the reduction of darkening of images occurring when the display is viewed from the front. PSOLUTION: The viewing-angle increasing film disposed adjacent to observers than the liquid crystal layer in the liquid crystal display device satisfies the following conditions (1) to (3) at the same time: (1) The transmittance of parallel rays ranges from 5 to 90%; (2) The diffusivity (A) in the main diffusion direction ranges from 1 to 20; and (3) The diffusivity ratio in the main diffusion direction ranges from 0.25 to 15%.
