PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gray toner for electrostatic charge image development, giving a gray image with balanced colors, and also to provide a method for producing the gray toner for electrostatic charge image development, and an image forming method using the gray toner for electrostatic charge image development. PSOLUTION: The gray toner for electrostatic charge image development comprises toner particles containing at least a binder resin and a colorant, wherein a solid image, which is formed of only the gray toner for electrostatic charge image development under the condition of a toner deposition amount of 4.0 g/mSP2/SP, shows a lightness LSP*/SPof 30 to 90 and a color saturation CSP*/SPof not more than 10 in the LSP*/SPaSP*/SPbSP*/SPcolor system. The colorant comprises at least two kinds of carbon black having different DBP oil absorption amounts. The two kinds of carbon black are a first carbon black having a DBP oil absorption amount of 80 to 200 (ml/100g), and a second carbon black having a DBP oil absorption amount of less than 80 (ml/100g).
