WAVELENGTH TUNABLE OPTICAL FILTER, WAVELENGTH TUNABLE LASER, AND WAVELENGTH TUNABLE LASER ARRAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength tunable optical filter having a peak wavelength of reflectance tunable in a wide band and also having a short length, to provide a wavelength tunable laser having a laser beam wavelength tunable in a wide band and achieving a stable laser beam intensity, and to provide a wavelength tunable laser array.;SOLUTION: The wavelength tunable optical filter includes: a multimode interference waveguide; a first light input/output section provided at one end in the longitudinal direction of the multimode interference waveguide; a reflection module provided another end of the multimode interference waveguide; and a module for changing a refractive index of the multimode interference waveguide. The length and width of the multimode interference waveguide are set such that light input from the first light input/output section is reflected by the reflection module to form an image at the first light input/output section with a desired branch ratio.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
