PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new phenol derivative added to an adhesive used for electric and electronic parts of semiconductor packages, etc., particularly an adhesive exhibiting excellent adhesiveness to surface layer coated with a metal such as copper, silver or gold.;SOLUTION: A phenol compound represented by the general formula 11 (wherein R₁ is 2 or 3C methylene chain; R₂ is a 1-10C methylene chain; G is hydrogen atom or a substituent group) is heated and reacted with a dithol represented by the formula HS-R₂-SH (R₂ is a 1-10C methylene chain) to afford a phenolic monothiol, which is then subjected to oxidation reaction with hydrogen peroxide in ethanol solvent to provide a phenolic disulfide represented by the general formula 21 (wherein R₁, R₂ and G are each the same as described above).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
