PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of transporting a pail and a fastening member for transporting the pail capable of reducing damage to paint and print compared with conventional ones in a simple manner.;SOLUTION: When a plurality of pails 10 each having a detachable top plate, a tapered barrel and a handle 2 are transported while stacked as the barrel of one pail is put into the barrel of another pail, the fastening member 101 for transporting the pail which causes compressive force between the uppermost pail and the lowermost pail is put between the handle of the uppermost pail 10U and the handle of the lowermost pail 10L.
