PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixed component selecting device of a substrate component mounting machine which is designed to determine which component should be set up in a fixed cassette by a computer.;SOLUTION: The number of printed boards whereon each kind of the component is mounted is calculated at each component mounted to a cassette of the component mounting machine by using a per-component calculating means 11 for calculating a number of printed boards. By a component ranking means 12, each kind of component is ranked at each component based on the number of printed boards whereon the component is mounted. The rank of the component mounted to the fixed cassette is temporarily determined by a fixed cassette temporarily determining means 14, and the total width of the cassettes of all the components at the temporarily determined rank or higher is calculated. Then, the maximum value of the cassette width of a non-fixed cassette in all the printed boards is calculated by a non-fixed cassette width maximum value calculating means 15. Based on the maximum value of the cassette width of the non-fixed cassette and the total cassette width of the temporarily determined fixed cassette and the total cassette width of the substrate component mounting machine, whether all the components at the temporarily determined rank or higher can be mounted to the fixed cassette is determined by a fixed cassette determination means 16.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
