PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a particle material for a ceramic product where a particle is hardly broken when mixed with a raw material for the ceramic product, where a function in a hollow state is kept even if cracks and the like are caused partially, where the surface smoothness of ceramics and the like is superior and where sufficient lightweight effect is obtained by smaller additional amount than that in a conventional product and to provide a lightweight ceramic product.;SOLUTION: The particle material for the ceramic product is a siliceous hollow fine particle being blended in the raw material for the ceramic product, having an average particle diameter of 1-500 μm and being formed with the internal space formed with a plurality of independent bubbles partitioned by partitioning walls. It is preferable that the hollow fine particle exhibits a floating residual rate at 8 MPa hydrostatic pressure of 70% or more, and has a weight per unit volume of 0.16-0.35 g/cm3, and the hollow fine particles having the internal space formed with a plurality of the independent bubbles partitioned by partitioning walls account for 60 particles in 100 particles.
