PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for heat-treating a ring-shaped member with which a uniform annular hardening range can be formed in the circumferential direction while restraining the manufacturing cost of an apparatus, and to provide a method for producing the ring-shaped member. PSOLUTION: The method for heat-treating the ring-shaped member, is provided with a step, in which the annular heating range heated to the temperature of the ASB1/SBpoint or higher is formed in a molding 10 by relatively rotating a coil 21 for induction-heating the molding 10 while disposing so as to face to a rolling contact surface 11 of the ring-shaped molding 10 composed of a steel, along the peripheral direction of the molding 10, and a step, in which the whole heating range is simultaneously cooled into the temperature of the MSBS/SBpoint or lower.
