PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for irradiating a columnar or cylindrical object like a rubber roller with ultraviolet rays effectively and continuously, to make an integrated ultraviolet dose in circumferential direction uniform, and to produce a rubber roller, that is excellent in the uniformity of surface hardness and has a reduced dynamic friction coefficient, with an excellent mass productivity at a low cost.;SOLUTION: The method and apparatus for ultraviolet irradiation comprises positioning a tubular ultraviolet lamp at the center, positioning a plural number of columnar or cylindrical objects like rubber roller concentric circularly, positioning cylindrical or circular reflectors at the outer concentric circular places, and irradiating the columnar or cylindrical objects while these are being rotated.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
