PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a log compression device which has a raised compression rate of log data compression. PSOLUTION: A log unit acquisition part 121 acquires log unit data from among a plurality of pieces of log unit data constituting log data and defines the log unit data as acquired unit data. A log difference generation part 123 generates difference data showing a difference between the acquired unit data acquired by the log unit acquisition part 121 and each of two or more pieces of log unit data different from the acquired unit data among the plurality of pieces of log unit data. A difference object determination part 131 determines log unit data corresponding to the smallest data amount of difference data generated by the log difference generation part 123 among the plurality of pieces of log unit data and defines the determined log unit data as selection object data. A compression unit output part 134 outputs difference data generated by the log difference generation part 123 with respect to the selection object data determined by the difference object determination part 131 as compressed unit data resulting from the compression of the acquired unit data acquired by the log unit acquisition part 121.
