PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for setting a remote controller which identifies a user by fingerprint recognition and sets the remote controller so as to provide functions corresponding to the identified user, and a remote controller employed with the method. PSOLUTION: The method for setting the remote controller and the remote controller employed with the method are provided. Based on the method for setting the remote controller, the remote controller can be set so as to identify a user by fingerprint recognition and to provide functions corresponding to the identified user, and thereby the user can use the functions of the remote controller easily.
