PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide action of an upright piano which has continuous hitting property and touch feeling comparable to those of action of a grand piano. PSOLUTION: When a key 1 is depressed, a first spring 59 which gives force with a magnitude and a direction, to compulsorily press down a pushup section 20 under a pushed section 27 of a bat 25, is formed in the pushup section 20 of a jack 18, while a second spring 66 which gives force with a magnitude and a direction, to stop rotation before a hammer head 34 of a rotated hammer 32 contacts a string 90, to the hammer 32 which rotates toward the string 90 by force given when the first spring 59 presses the pushup section 20 under the pushed section 27, is provided at a front side face of a damper stop rail 56. A first receiving section 71 which is hit by the first spring 59 is provided in a jack stop rail 53, and a second receiving section 72 which is hit by the second spring 66 is provided in a hammer shank 33.
