PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polydiorganosiloxane partly end-blocked with substituted silethylene groups by reacting a hydroxyl-end-blocked polydiorganosiloane with a hydrogen-containing silicon compound and a trialkylsilyl-end-blocked siloxane and further reacting the product with a substituted alkenylsilane. ;SOLUTION: A hydroxyl-end-blocked polydiorganosiloxane is mixed with a silicon compound having at least two Si-bonded hydrogen atoms and a siloxane end-blocked with -Si(R')3 (wherein R' is a 1-6C hydrocarbon group) in the presence of an acidic polymerization catalyst to form a polyorganosiloxane having at least one Si-bonded hydrogen atom and at least one -Si(R')3 group.
