PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a sufficient draining function with a bamboo cylinder and a bamboo cylinder assembly lightweight with high mechanical strength and to integrate surrounding soil or ground to rear plants.;SOLUTION: The bamboo cylinder 10 is composed of a cylindrical body 1 formed by arranging a plurality of split bamboos 3 on the same circumference in the mutually facing state of adjacent radial faces 32 of respective sector face cross sections 31 of the plurality of split bamboos 3; strips 21 for tightening the outer peripheral surface 11 of the cylindrical body 1; and needles 5 impeding the radially inward movement of the split bamboos 3 when connecting both ends of the strips 21. The strips 21 hold the plurality of split bamboos 3 forming the cylindrical body 1, into cylindrical shape together with the needles 5. While impeding the radially inward movement of the split bamboos 3 by the needles 5, the adjacent radial faces 32 of the respective sector face cross sections 31 of the plurality of split bamboos 3 are allowed to face each other to arrange the plurality of split bamboos 3 on the same circumference, and the strips 21 are wound around the outer peripheral surface 11 of the plurality of split bamboos 3 to connect both ends of the strips 21.
