PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body movement detector for measuring a person's sleep conditions by detecting major body movements during the person's sleep with the simple construction of the detector. PSOLUTION: The body movement detector includes a temperature sensor to detect temperature within a bed, a humidity sensor to detect humidity within the bed, a vibration sensor to detect the vibrations of body movements within the bed, a change quantity calculation means to calculate environmental change quantity in the bed, output values from the vibration sensor, and a body movement quantity calculation means to calculate the body movement quantity on the basis of the environmental change quantity calculated by the change quantity calculation means.
