PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide lip sync animation of high quality with respect to arbitrary characters and save manpower of creation work. PSOLUTION: In the statistic probability model creation apparatus for lip sync animation creation, a face parameter compound part 82 includes: phonemes column estimation means 250 and 252 for estimating a phonemes column and phonemes continuation length on the basis of sound data 42 and phonemes HMM 64; a phonemes/visumes conversion part 254 for generating a visumes column on the basis of the estimated phonemes and phonemes continuation length to determine continuation length of each of the visumes; and a HMM matching part 242 for estimating a series 84 of parameters indicating traces of feature points with the visumes column as an input parameter on the basis of learned face parameter HMM 50 with respect to transition probability among the visumes and output probability at a position of each of the feature points. The lip sync animation creation system includes: a mapping part for transforming a specified face object on the basis of the series 84 of the parameters compounded by the face parameter composition part 82; and an imaging part for generating an animation from the transformed face object.
