PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an interference avoidance device capable of avoiding interference of a transmission signal from a roadside communication device on the occurrence of the interference. PSOLUTION: The interference avoidance device 10 causes a transmission signal from a first roadside communication device 2 to avoid interference with a transmission signal from a second roadside communication device when an on-board communication device 3 receives the transmission signal from the first roadside communication device 2. The interference avoidance device includes an interference decision unit 13 for determining the presence of interference and a characteristic changing unit 14 for changing distance-level characteristics being propagation distance characteristics of a transmission signal level from the roadside communication device 2, on the basis of the decision results of the interference decision unit 13.
